The New House

As I stated before, we have moved!  I blogged about our old house and briefly about the new house but I have finally gotten all my pictures together for my family and friends that don't live in Tallahassee to see. So without further ado...

When you walk in the front door and look immediately to your left,
you see our office and hall closet door.

The Office

The office originally had a wall paper border that I took down.
I'm not real crazy about this color but I haven't decided what color I want it to be just yet.

Looking out of the office

The view headed back towards the front door.

When you walk in and go to the right you walk in to our eat in kitchen.

The kitchen is currently yellow (obviously) but I hope to eventually paint it a colonial blue color.

Headed out of the kitchen and into the living room.
Front door would be to your left from this view.

See that little nook above the couch?
One of these days that will have some cute decorations.

That is a bar that looks into the kitchen.  I plan on putting stools there.

This view is from me standing in the living room with the kitchen to my right.
This hallway has Seth's room, the guest bathroom, and McKayla's room.

Seth's Room

His room is light blue.
I'm going to get some red paint (the same shade that's on his bedding)
and do a few horizontal stripes near the top of the walls.

That dresser will be stained to match the rest of his furniture and
I've already bought some cute sports knobs to put on it.

He also has a Dave Matthew's at Fenway Park poster that I have to get a frame for.

The Guest Bathroom

I'm currently looking for some cute bathroom art to put in here.

Heading into McKayla's room...

McKayla's Room

I've picked out a shade of purple for her room.
I'm not crazy about this shade of pink.  One day we'll get around to painting it.

Directly across from the kid's hallway is our room.

Our Bedroom
Door on the left is our closet; door on the right is our bathroom.

I took this picture several times but this was the best it would do.

I have some photo ideas for above the bed.
We are also in desperate need of some bed side lamps.

We have this awesome tray ceiling but I just can't decide how and what color to paint it.
I'm open to suggestions if you've painted one like this before.

Our Bathroom

These walls will be painted too.
You can't tell from the pictures but they do not match the shower curtain.

Looking out our backdoor.

Looking at the back of our house.
Excuse the pile of sticks and pinecones...they were collected by the kids.

So there it is!

I'll keep you guys posted of new changes we make.

Recent Events

As usual, things continue to be busy in our household which doesn't leave alot of time for blog updates.  Here are some of the most recent happenings:

Seth lost his very first tooth on the 2nd day of school!

Justin celebrated his 35th birthday on August 31st.
We celebrated with a party here at the house. I kind of forgot what I was doing and only took pictures of the cake and decorations.  I know, I'm a dummy!

Labor Day weekend we headed down south to see my family.  We stayed with my brother and his family and also visited with my mom, step-dad, and grandmother.  The kids just love going down there and always have a blast with their cousins.  We also always get spoiled by Nana (my mom) while we're there.  We don't have many pictures of that trip but here are a few.

 McKayla and baby Jack

 Slumber party!

Seth's first true fishing trip.  Big thanks to Uncle Ryan for taking them.

 A new headband from Nana.

 Me and my Layla!

Me and Sethie!

FSU Football has a officially started and we are super excited.  We attended the 2nd game of the season and we will also attend the FSU vs. Oklahoma game, the Miami game, and most likely the NC State game.  That last one is a maybe because we plan on taking the kids.  It's a little hard to shell out the cash for tickets for kids when you can almost guarantee there will be some sort of whining, complaining, and wanting to leave before it's over.  I'll let you know how that one goes.  In the mean time, here are some pictures of our first tailgate of the season.

Like I said, we're busy as usual.  I have also made things a bit busier by deciding to get a part-time job working after-school care at my school.  It's only on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays but it certainly adds to our schedule.  So what does a typical week with the kids look like? Here goes...
Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays, Mimi picks them up from school and I get home around 4:00 (this is now, I will start my new work schedule next week).  From there, we do homework, play for awhile, read books (this is about the time Justin gets home), make and eat dinner, give baths, possibly read another book or watch a bit of TV, and then the kids go to bed.  On Tuesdays I go to one of my grad school classes until 6:15 (this is in addition to one online class) so Justin gets the kids from their after school program.  He takes care of all the homework and such and when I get home we have a simple dinner or something that has been in the crock pot all day.  Thursdays get a bit complicated.  I usually have work meetings on Thursdays so as soon as that is over I run to get the kids so McKayla can be at dance practice by 5:15.  She reads on the way to dance and Seth and I do homework while she dances.  Sometimes Justin and I have softball practice right when she gets done with dance (yes, we are on a co-ed baseball team).  If we have practice in addition to hers we just grab dinner on the way home.  Then we give baths and go to bed.  So, we decided that wasn't busy enough so we threw in a few more things.  As I mentioned, I will now be working til 6:00 on M, W, F.  Seth starts flag football this week and he will have practice Tuesdays and Fridays at 5:30.  Oh, and did I mention he will have games on Saturdays? McKayla will also start to have dance performances soon and most of those will fall on Friday nights and Saturdays.  Friday nights is also when we have softball games.  Let's see...anything else?  If you see me looking a little frazzled, or I don't return a text (sorry Meghan ;)), or I forget to call you back; don't take it personally, I just have about 1000 things running through my head.  Don't get me wrong, I'm NOT complaining.  I love being a step-mother and a wife more than anything in the world, but I sometimes wonder, where does all the time go?
