Seth Coleman Wimberly

This blog post is dedicated to my favorite little boy in the whole entire world, Mr. Seth Wimberly!

Although I've only been his step-mom for 5 short months, I am head over heels in love with this magical 5-year old little boy.  He is a mini version of Justin so how could I not be.  He is smart beyond belief and is constantly asking to be quized on his math skills.  He loves asking questions and remembers the answers.  Some of his favorite questions while riding in the car are, "How do you say ____ in Spanish?, "How much is __ +__?", or "When I'm __ years old, how old will you be?" What's truly amazing about his questions is that he almost always remembers the answer you gave him.  Which also means that if you tell him you're going to do something, you better do it because he WILL NOT forget.

Seth loves to imitate his dad at all times.  If Justin makes a silly face then he tries to make the same face.  If Justin uses a funny accent then he does too.  He tries to walk, talk, and be like him at all times.  He even sings the song "Watching You", by Rodney Atkins (Watching You Music Video). A week ago Justin was doing dishes and Seth asked if he could help.  He didn't want to get his t-ball uniform wet so he stripped down to his underwear, threw a towel over his shoulder, and got to work.

One of my favorite things we've started doing that I love is our bed time ritual.  I started telling him that I love him to the moon and back when we tuck him in at night and he would say it back.  One night after I said, "I love you to the moon and back", he replied with, "I love you from earth, to the moon, back to earth, to God, and back to earth again" (yes my heart melted). From there it has escalated each night.  Now we go from earth to the moon, each planet, to God, and even to infinity and beyond. I love this ritual and I hope it continues on for many years to come.  The best part is that everytime we do this he laughs and giggles, his eyes open wide and produce the best sparkle I've ever seen in my life.  I try to catch a picture of his perfect laugh but I haven't gotten it yet.

So why is this blog post all about Seth? Because this week he graduated pre-k, got his first ever t-ball trophy, and will be starting kindergarten next year at Gilchrist (big school). I haven't been around for most of his life but I already can't believe how fast it is going by.  I tell him all the time that I hope the kisses, hugs, hand holding, snuggling, and general sillyness never stop but I know they will.  So for now I'll enjoy them while I can.

As I mentioned, Seth graduated from KinderSchool Pre-K this week so as am sure you can imagine we took several pictures of his big day.

Fenway posed for this all by herself.

 Proud Dad!

 Don't mind my messy house.

 One happy family.

 Mimi and Papa.

 Seth's Teachers

One of my best friends, Miss Meghan!

The night of Seth's graduation was also his last t-ball game.  Unfortunately we had to miss the game but he did get to receive his first tropy ever.

Seth and Coach Mike!

I'd like to finish this post off with some of my favorite Seth quotes.

When you say, "thank you", he often says, "my pleasure".

After Mimi and Papa took us to dinner he turned to them and said, "Thank you for a lovely dinner."

As we were passing a small older woman at Publix he shouted, "Does everyone shrink when they get old?"

Riding in the van with Justin after his t-ball game I made baseball cupcakes for he said, "Daddy, you can't get married again.  You have to stay married to Jennifer forever or I will punch you in the stomach."

Justin plays rugby and got hit in the ribs and cracked a few of them. About a week later he said, "When I grow up I want to be a rugby player so I can hit people in the ribs."

On a final note...

"Big Boy" Seth in his Gilchrist Elementary t-shirt he got at orientation.
