I know you all have been anxiously waitng for a new post. Well, maybe not all of you, but I know my mom and Justin's mom have been. So here it is and get ready for several more over the next week.
Last summer Ashley Barlow, a good friend of mine, did me the honor of asking me to make her wedding cake. Although I was nervous about taking on such a huge task I was more than happy to have her as my first ever wedding cake order. I have had several party cake orders over the past few years but never a wedding cake. So last Friday night, April 1st, I spent most of my evening trying to make the perfect wedding cake for Ashley and Jason. I then spent all night having nightmares about the cake falling over, the cake caving in, Justin driving off with the cake on the roof of the car, the kids trying to eat the cake, and many other ways a cake could be destroyed. At 4:00 A.M. I woke up in a sweat, ran into the dining room, and stared at the cake for several minutes to make sure it hadn't somehow been ruined in the few hours I had been sleeping. Thankfully, the cake made it safely to the Golden Eagle Country Club.
Ashley, Jason, and the guests all seemed to love it and that was a huge relief.
The venue was beautiful, the food was delicious, the party was a blast, and the bride and groom looked perfect. Here are some pictures of all the fun.
Congratulations to Jason and Ashley Ishley!!!
